nyc top hat jazz group

Q&A

1. Q- I am planning my company's holiday party in December at a restaurant in Midtown. Are you available during a weekday in the afternoon? How much notice do you need? Can you play any holiday songs?

A- To reserve our group, please give between 2 weeks and 3 months advanced notice. We can play some standard holiday songs, but if you have a special request in mind, please let us know in advance. Also, please provide us with the restaurant contact number.

2. Q- My Daughter is set on having a DJ for her wedding reception. I think it would be great to have a live jazz group for the cocktail hour. Is that possible?

A- Absolutely! We do cocktail hours in combination with DJ's quite a bit. We can book wedding reservations up to 6 months in advance. Please have your planner contact us for arrangements.

3. Q- I'd like more information about adding a singer as mentioned in your band information section.

A- A singer may be added to the group for an additional charge. Singers will add more attention to the group which switches direction from background music to performance music. I can send you samples of some different singers we work with if you are interested.

4. Q- I'm worried a whole band may be too loud for my Manhattan apartment. Do you have other options?

A- Yes, we can provide a smaller group. For example, a guitar, bass, and percussion (tambourine, congas, etc.) will provide a more intimate setting. It will also save on performance space needed.

5. Q- Do I need to provide anything for you to play at the Hilton Hotel for a corporate party?

A- No, we are an acoustic music group so we don't need any sound equipment. If the room is very large, we can talk about using additional sound equipment. We work with an excellent sound company that can provide speaker and monitors for video presentations.

6. Q- I'm a party planner and have been working in NYC for 20 years. I haven't heard of your group. Is the group new?

A- This band was formed in 2005 out of demand. Each member has been a working professional for over 10 years. We know events and parties are very important to the host, no matter if they are a big business or parents of the bride to be. We are committed to meeting the highest expectations. We look forward to working with you.

7. Q- What is your band's attire?

A- That is your own discretion. We can dress casual, formal, or black tie.

8. Q- My wife's favorite song is "Fields Of Gold" by Sting. Can you perform a jazz version of this song?

A- Yes, but because we will have to transcribe that song as it is not in our song book, that service would be an additional fee.

9. Q- I am based in the Hamptons, how far are do you travel out of New York City?

A- We are based in NYC but, will travel to the tri-state area.

10. Q- Do you require a deposit?

A- In most cases we ask for a 20% deposit.
